Urgent Care

Urgent care clinics are sometimes walk-in clinics, minor emergency centers or immediate care facilities. You don’t need an appointment and you don’t need a Primary Care Physician to use a walk-in clinic. Many walk-in clinics offer care on weekends and holidays, or when your regular doctor is unavailable. Walk-in clinics are a good alternative to using an emergency center for non-life threatening, minor medical issues.

What are the benefits of using a walk-in clinic?

  • Lower cost: Treatment at any in-network walk-in clinic can cost from a $25 co-pay to a $50 co-pay. Comparatively, if you are treated at an emergency center and are not admitted, your co-pay will be $250, increasing to $500 for every visit thereafter.
  • Shorter wait time: The average wait time at a walk-in clinic is 15 minutes, compared to up to four hours at an emergency center.
